Join the #1 networking event for the silicon community

We were delighted to be returning to Norway for the 16th CRU Silicon Market Forum from 7-10 September 2026 in Kristiansand, Norway. The event will be run in association with the NTNU and incorporates the Silicon for the Chemical and Solar Industry Conference offering a four-day expanded agenda.

This year our Host Sponsor, Elkem will be offering guided tours of their Elkem Carbon Fiskaa facilities on Monday 7 September. Find out more about the site visit

The CRU Silicon Forum is the essential annual meeting for the silicon industry to connect, exchange ideas, and do business with key producers, consumers, suppliers, and traders of silicon metal, polysilicon and silicones.

The agenda willl explore the challenges facing the industry and its stakeholders, and provide in-depth, strategic discussions with experts and analysis of the factors that will shape the future of the silicon metal market. The potential for future consumption growth in different segments of the market will be assessed as will likely changes in supply in view of cost, environmental, and trade considerations. Plus, additional technical content from the NTNU to ensure that all aspects of silicon production and the primary chemical processes are covered.

Ahead of the meeting, CRU's Sabrina Lu, Silicon Lead commented:

"Global silicon metal demand faced continued pressure in early 2026 following the significant downturn in 2025. Polysilicon-related consumption remained suppressed below its 2024 peak, while other end-use sectors showed mixed demand patterns yet remained subdued on a global scale.

Amid depressed demand conditions, silicon metal production has reduced across most regions. Trade measures continue to be a key factor shaping regional industry dynamics and influencing business decisions.

While Middle East conflict has elevated costs and created near-term uncertainty, accelerating energy diversification and electrification present upsides over the medium to longer term.

Join us to explore the challenges and opportunities across the silicon metal value chain, with in-depth discussions on the key topics shaping the evolving market landscape."
